Have you ever seen a social media post from one of your favorite bloggers and noticed how much engagement they get from their community?
I have and I’m still amazed at how much love they get.
Take Ryan Biddulph for example. He’s got a loyal following and they totally love him! He is a constant on Facebook live and when he’s on, you best believe he’ll have an audience. Not only is there a lesson in his videos but he’s also entertaining.
Just take a look at his Facebook page and check out any of his videos. Then watch and learn! Check out how he interacts with his community while he’s live! As folks join in, he gives them a shout out. I mean, how cool is that!
Or take Donna Merrill. She’s recently started doing Facebook live videos but because she was already engaging with her community her second video already had 100 views! You can check out her page here to see how quickly her peeps responded to her as soon as they realized she was live.
That is what I call hashtag goals and why I’m always saying I want to be like them when I grow up!
Do you ever wonder what it is your favorite bloggers or mentors are doing to make their audience love them the way they do?
I have and I’ve learned by watching my mentors work their magic. Just for the record, I’m not a blogger stalker, hehe.
Anywho, with all the watching and listening I’ve been doing for my own personal growth I believe I have found the secret to their awesomeness and I’m going to pass the recipe on to you!
5 Ways To Get Love From Your Community
The thing is, you can have a killer blog and awesome content but if you want your community of peeps to love you – I mean really, really love you, then you have to step up your game.
Here are some ways to make your own magic happen to get your community to show you some love.
Talk To Your Community
Engaging with your audience is a major deal.
Think about it. When you get a reply or a shout out from one your favorite bloggers, it feels kinda cool, right?
That’s exactly how your peeps will feel when you reply to their comment on your blog or on a social media post.
On the other hand, if you’re not engaging with your audience they may start to think you don’t care about ‘em and you take the risk of losing them.
Not only that but you’re missing out on the opportunity to find out what they need so you can be the one to provide what it is they’re looking for.
It’s like I used to tell my sales reps when I coached them, how are you going to make a sales presentation without knowing what your customer needs? You have to engage in conversation to find out.
Show Them Your Human Side
People like to connect with people they can relate to so remember to show them your human side.
Say for instance, in between sharing content, you can also share your favorite quotes, videos, funny memes or GIFs.
Sni.ps is a great place to find trending content for social media. You’ll find trending news, live campaigns and memes that you can add your brand name to.
And best of all, you get paid when anyone clicks or participates in the content you share.
So remember, don’t be all business, let your hair down and have some fun!
Give ‘Em What They’re Looking For
What I mean by that is make sure you’re providing the resources your audience is looking for. For example: if you’re a mom blogger sharing recipes and parenting tips you don’t want to post about beauty products or fashion tips.
Be sure to share content from other bloggers in your niche because I can almost guarantee they’ll have some helpful material for your audience as well.
Offer Freebies To Your Community
Who doesn’t love a freebie right?
If you’ve got an eBook, printable, how-to guide or any product, every now and then give your audience a treat by giving them a freebie, maybe even a deep discount.
Facebook has tools to make it easy for you to create an offer or event for your fans. But if you want an offer or promotion to go out to your whole community, write a blog post about it and share it across all your social media platforms.
Be where your audience is at and take part in what is trending right now.
For example, if most of your peeps are on Instagram, besides posting on your feed, create stories to share your latest happenings or even your latest blog post. You can also show your silly side with a Boomerang pic!
Or if Facebook is the platform of their choice, share a live video to talk about your latest post, a tip of the day like Ryan does or just to say hey like Donna.
Maybe your peeps are on Snapchat. I don’t have a Snapchat account but from what my son tells me, on Snapchat you engage with captioned pics and videos.
But the real way to get your community to love you is to be consistent through it all.
