An assistant is valuable to an Author. They depend on a VA to make sure your brand is seen online. She (or he) has to be the one behind the scenes getting sh*t done making sure everything runs smoothly for the sake of your brand or business.
You count on your assistant to share your content and promote your book on social media. And you rely on them to keep up with your website like updating your events calendar and publishing your blog posts.
But sometimes things don’t work out that way. When you’re too busy to write content for your blog what do you do?
How An Author’s Assistant Can Help You With Your Content Calendar
I work with some fabulous ladies who in addition to being an author, have full-time careers. Their busy schedule takes up a lot of their time and that leaves them little time to write content for their blog.
So I’ve had to resort to a little creativity in order to keep the blog posts coming.
Here are some ways to help your clients thrive online when they’re careers keep them too busy to write content for their blog.
Share Blog Post Ideas
Sometimes all it takes is an idea or two to spark a blog post. If you’re having a hard time coming up with topics to write about, meet with your assistant to come up with a list of blog posts ideas – maybe that will inspire a new post or two.
An Author’s Assistant Can Write Content For Your Blog
If your assistant is familiar with your genre/niche, they can keep your blog calendar full by writing content for your blog.
Ask your assistant to send you a draft and see if you have anything to add. Your never know if that can spark another blog post.
Repurpose Old Blog Posts
Another way an Author’s assistant can keep your blog calendar full is by repurposing older content.
I like to go back a couple years and update old posts with fresh content and new graphics. And every now and then I’ll change up the format altogether.
Since most people prefer videos, I’ll take an old blog post and turn it into a video with the Lumen5* tool. If you’re interested in this tool, check out my tutorial that shows you how to create videos from a blog post.
So those are the ways an Author’s assistant can help you with your content calendar when you’re too busy to write content for your blog. Remember, share your ideas, they can write content for you and repurpose older blog posts.
