Starting a blog is easy. And you can actually make a good living as a blogger but you have to go through the learning and planning process to get there.
The thing is, that’s a crucial step a lot of new bloggers tend to skip because they want to hurry up and start making money like other bloggers.
And who can blame them right when there are bills to pay and a family to take care of.
I ought to know. That’s exactly what I did. At the time there were more bills coming in than money so I had a this sense of urgency to make this ‘blogging thing’ work. And as a result, my first blogging year well it pretty much sucked. So much so that I had no choice but to hit the reset button to get on track.
Sadly though, the majority of bloggers who struggle in their first year don’t make it to celebrate their first year blogiversary.
If you want your blog to become a successful online business, you have to learn in order to grow. I mean, there are even quotes about it…so it’s kind of a big deal. 🙂
The more you know, the more you grow.”
How To Survive Your First Year As A Blogger – The eBook
I’ve learned a lot of lessons in the seven years I’ve been blogging. The most important lesson I learned was to take the time to learn about blogging – soak up as much as you can.
If you don’t, you are only setting yourself up for a let down. But if you do then you will see the rewards of your hard work in the form of moolah, c-notes, bucks…the Benjamins!
Now don’t go drop what you’re doing and start a blog, the money isn’t going to start rolling in tomorrow. Shewt, it may not even happen in your first year but I can say that eventually it will.
On average, it takes about 3 years to start making a decent income, so if you’re in it for the long haul and dedicated to your blog and passionate for what you’re blogging about then you’ve got this!
If you’re just starting your blogging journey or if you need to press the reset button like I did, I’m here to help.
I wrote an eBook titled “How To Survive Your First Year As A Blogger” to help new and even not-so-new bloggers make it through their first year.
This eBook covers what I think are the most important things to do as a new blogger such as:
- Creating a plan for your blog
- Discovering who your target audience is
- How to create quality content
- Build up your brand
- How to promote your brand
- Building a community
And I’ve also included some resources for places to look for paid blogging gigs. All of this and more is covered in detail.
My “why” behind this eBook is simple…if I can help one person who may be on the brink of throwing in the towel by sharing my personal experience (no matter how embarrassing it is) and what I’ve learned then that’s what I want to do.
Not only that but I will never forget how crappy I felt seeing zero results month after month.
I just want you to see that every blogger has had a starting point and have had their share of screw-ups. The important thing is to learn from those screw-ups – that’s how you grow.
